The Story Behind the Quarry
Arkins Park Stone is a family owned stone business aquired by Neil and Judy Sprague that has been in business since the 1980s. Coming from four generations of quarrying Neil Sprague worked with his father in the late 1940s and then decided in the late 1950s he wanted to further on his venture with the minining industry.
Judy and Neil Sprague married in 1952, the Spragues started with purchasing two other quarries before they made the purchase on Arkins Park Stone. Having such a history with the quarry industry they put all of their efforts into Arkins Park Stone solely because they knew how satisfied customers were with the product from the color to the durability.
Arkins Park Stone is continuously growing and always finding ways to create the best products for their customers in the most timely manner. The Spragues continue to keep Arkins Park Stone a family business with more than 70 years of experience of quarrying.
Why Choose Arkins Park Stone?
Arkins Park Stone has been serving the state of Colorado since the early 1980s and is the largest Colorado Buff stone quarry in the state of Colorado with approximately 195 acres of land. Colorado buff sandstone is well known for its hardness, stratification, and unique color.
The composition of the sandstone is mostly sand and siliceous matter. The silica content (silicon dioxide) in our stone is what allows the stone to be much harder and able to withstand enviromental conditions. Colorado buff sanstone makes for a perfect use for both outdoor and indoor projects.
From our stone cutters to our fabrication shop we are able to customize orders even more to fit and tailor needs of our customers. If you are in need of help on you current project or not sure what material you may need, please email or give us a call today for further help.
